I have an idea for a natural fruit and vegetable wash and wanted to know what people think.?!

Question: I have an idea for a natural fruit and vegetable wash and wanted to know what people think.?
I have looked up several recipes for natural homemade fruit and vegetable wash and came down to one that sounded really good. It called for 1 tablespoon of lemon juice, 2 tablespoons of vinegar, and one cup of water. This sounded good for the antiseptic qualities, but I want something that will help with the grit, i.e., the wax commonly found on apples, squash, peppers, etc. I was thinking about adding a tablespoon of baking soda to the mix for a little bit of abrasiveness. Any thoughts? Anyone tried anything different and/or better to reach my goal? If so, please share your thoughts!

Answers:

Wouldn't baking soda and vinegar create foam? I think the grit of the baking soda disappears in the foam.

Wax would need more a degreaser, which is what the vinegar and lemon juice do, I don't think you anything abrasive. But it won't hurt you as far as making you sick, so if you would like to do that, then try it and see how it works! I always just use water and dish soap and rinse everything off really good.

I scrub these things with broken rice.

After it is done, I pour the whole thing in me garden. Dey become fertislizer for good thigns to ate.

Sounds great to me just the way it is. I'm going to try your recipe both ways and see what happens. Thanks for the recipe!
