Do they inject dye into ruby red grapefruit to give it a red color?!

Question: Do they inject dye into ruby red grapefruit to give it a red color?
Someone told me that in order to give ruby red grapefruit it's color, growers have to inject the fruit with red dye. I thought this sounded kinda far fetched, but I'm willing to give this guy the benefit of the doubt and figured I would double check before telling him to recheck his facts, I'm thinking it's something he might have read in an email forward or something like that.

Anyone know if they inject dye or dye is involved at all in grapefruit production?

The grapefruit family consists of white, pink and red varieties which vary in sweetness.
Grapefruit color is caused by the pigmentation of the fruit so no artificial color in the real natural fruit itself.

no, they don't dye the actual fruit

however many grapfruit juice makers use coloring to color the actual juice

Nonsense. They are just like that. There are other types of grapefruit that aren't reddish.
