Yes, some people have given it the name of "Fruitatarian" or something like that. You may need more variety than just apples, oranges, and bananas though.
Fruits contain all necessary carbohydrates, vitamins, and minerals. The skins of fruit contain fiber (apples and pears are good). Protein can also be found in some fruits, but mainly in nuts, which are classified as fruits. It never hurts to throw in some veggies though.
Fruitatarianism
Fruit supplies a lot of great nutrients, enzymes and LIQUID, including water...but a diet of fruit alone would be seriously deficient in protein, calcium, iron, and I think that after many days of this your body would start to "cannibalize" itself by burning your own muscle for the fat and protein you need. You need some fat for your brain to work normally, and protein for energy (muscle). I don't see how you could totally survive on fruit alone.
what was previously said about fruitarianism is true. but i personally tried to eat only fruit all day once and it was really hard, because i got reeeeeally hungry.
the problem is that fruit is nutrient-dense, meaning that it has a LOT of nutrients for only a small amount of calories. assuming you need 2000 calories a day, that would be a ton of fruit you would have to eat.
and fruit can get pretty expensive.
so, i mean, it's definitely possible, but probably not the most practical for an everyday person.
science of nutrition class. :)
Fruitarianism is the practice endorsed by people called fruitarians or fructarians of following a diet that comprises fruits, nuts and seeds, without animal products, vegetables and grains.[1] Fruitarianism is a subset of veganism. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fruitariani…

Well to live a healthy life you need to have a balanced diet, which consists of protein, carbs, fat and veg. Then of course you need some dairy and calcium each day.
And you don't get all those food groups in fruit alone. So you could expect problems on the future if fruit is the only thong you ate. Of course fruit is really healthy, but you cant survive on it, on it's own.
Yes, but in order to healthy it would have to be a large variety of fruits, because many fruits offer different nutrients.
Also in large consumption of certain fruits you may succumb to diarrhea.
Survive? I think so. But it probably wouldn't be very healthy. I think you need more minerals and protein in your diet.
You said survive, so yes you could SURVIVE..but would you be healthy? No. Your body would be in serious deficit of many nutrients.
No. You need protein and other stuff. You can't just survive off of fruit.
for a while yes
