Will microwaving the foil cover of a poptart, even if for a few seconds, damage the microwave/make it hazardous to use?

People are so misinformed. You can microwave safely as long as the foil makes no points. I own a restaurant and microwave in foil every day. Just make sure that your foil is as flat as possible. The foil will spark if there are two or more "points" to arc across.

Never use foil in a microwave oven for any food not just poptarts. Yes it will damage your microwave.
