Are green tea leaves healthier than the green tea bags?!

Question: Are green tea leaves healthier than the green tea bags?
Or does it make a difference?

Answers:

I prefer loose tea leaves to the bags because you don't know what's in the bags unless you cut one open, or how long it's been in storage. You can tell how fresh loose tea is by the smell and look. With loose tea, you get whole dried leaves, while in the bags the leaves have been crushed and may be adulterated with...well, just about anything. Always buy tea in bulk if you can, from a place with quick turnover, so that you know your tea is fresh and has all the essential oils intact. Store it in a non-transparent, airtight container because tea absorbs other odours easily and direct sunlight will deteriorate the quality.

Using tea bags is begginer tea drinking, particularly for less oxidized tea leaves. They are also more expensive than loose leaf. There is a whole world of tea drinking that opens up when you move to the loose leaves and get some quality tea. It like comparing canned vegetables to fresh, no comparison. There are online sites where you can get good loose tea much cheaper than those lousy store bought tea bags. Try some oolong too, which is semi oxidized tea between green and black, has a deeper taste and is a nice compliment to drinking greeen. After years of using leaves, tea bags offer almost no flavor whatsoever, particullarly with green. Clean water is also critical.

Loose tea leaves are always better than tea bags. I recommend drinking quality Japanese Green Tea varieties like Gyokuro, Sencha or Matcha as they are generally the best and a powerful antioxidant with many health benefits.
