Even if the companies revealed there secret recipes, it would be hard to copy them, as you would need to know the exact proportions of each spice, herb and flavouring, like I have in my chefs career only once seen real cola nuts that are used in both Pepsi and Coke, Phosphoric acid is available at the drug store, and whether Taco Bells meat filling is 100% beef is impossible, there has to be some filler and spices, that is only 13 % of the content

Every restaurant will hide some of their ingredients from the public! If everyone knew how to make it then taco bell wouldn't be up and running, people could make them from home, sell it at a cheaper price in their own stores, Ther would be no business for taco bell. Same with starbucks, Mc Donalds, and every other restaurant. :)

its not against the law even in grocery stores
many foods will just list spices or herbs and spices, even natural flavoring... and not any more

the FDA's policy is that there are so little herbs and spices in foods, and so few people are allergic to them, they don't bother making that a law.

It is the law to tell what is in the stuff that we eat they should show what it is that they have in their food
