Is it ok to eat moldy cheddar?!

Question: Is it ok to eat moldy cheddar?
If I cut the mold part off with the rest of the cheese still be ok?

Answers:

considering that cheese is gone off milk and that during the cheese making and ageing process it does grow mould which the producers cut off i'd say it's fine, plus if u eat blue cheese the blue veins in it are a type of mould themselves.

Yes. You can either cut it off, or drizzle some vinegar on a paper towel and wipe the mold off. No wasted cheese that way! The mold is on the surface, not in the cheese, so wiping it off eliminates it completely. Your choice

Sure. Mould is essential to cheese. Just cut off the mouldy bit.
ETA: Thanks for the vinegar hint, Tom, I'll use that.

"cheese is better eaten old"
