How to keep (semi-iced) cookies fresh, going across the border?!

Question: How to keep (semi-iced) cookies fresh, going across the border?
I'm making some cookies to post across the border, a several day trip, and I need a way to keep them as a fresh as possible- I can't do anything like vacuum sealing, which a friend recommended, it's more-so any tips people might have using things that I'd already have.

Answers:

Put the cookies in a single layer in Ziploc bags and put a slice of bread in the bag. Remove as much air as possible and seal.

It would be better to knw what kind of cookies they are, because different cookies have different requirements to help make them stay fresh. But I would put them in an airtight container, you can buy throw away ones at the supermarket, then put that in a box for shipping. Cookies can stay relatively fresh for about 1 week or 2 depending on the type of cookie.

place a slice of bread in with the cookies the moist bread keeps them soft

Put them in a cooler
