Where did ice cream originate from?!

i heard it was inspired by frozen treats from china in which different flavors were mixed in with snow. that happened 2,000 years ago, and it wasn't until several centuries later that it began evolving into modern ice cream.
Ice cream as we know it today first appeared in 18th century England, though things like Sorbet and Italian ice have been around for much longer.
