After seasoning/marinading, do I need to put on an cooking oil coat on the rib eye steak before grilling to prevent dryness & meat burn?

Sorry, if this question may sound like "Duh!" type of question....I'm a guy whom is trying to learn how to cook a decent steak!

Answers:

You do not oill the rib eye itself but it helps to put a light coat of oil on the grill so the steak doesn't stick when you want to turn it over. You cook one side, turn it over and then cook the other side. You only turn the steak once. How long you cook the steak depends on the weight and the thickness. For an average size steak is takes 8 to 10 minutes on each side to get it to medium. This is where you need to experiment. A steak cooked in an oven broiler takes less time than a steak on a barbecue.. The reason for that is that the meat is closer to the burners in a stove broiler than it is on a barbecue. You'll get the hang of it pretty fast. Have fun.

no, after grill is hot cook for 4-5 minutes each side for a medium.
