How does popcorn pop?!
Question 1.I am doing a science project on popcorn and i need to know why does it pop.

Heat makes the moisture in the popcorn expand, and it blows the hard kernel apart.

in the center, there is some moisture. when this moisture reaches a certain temp, it expands and cant be contained inside the kernal so it has to "POP" to release that stored energy! yum
The way the popcorn pops, is cause of the air pressure that builds up inside the shell thing. And when the pressures released, the popcorn EXPLODES!
