Please don't add 2 TABLESPOONS of salt to your rice like j-man suggests! It will be so salty that you won't be able to eat it. Half a teaspoon of salt is plenty with 1 cup of rice and 2 cups of water. I usually don't use any salt at all.

I find that I like brown basmati rice much more than regular long grain brown rice. Basmati rice has a beautiful flavour and perfume.

Also, when you are planning to eat rice, make sure that you make another dish like stir-fried veggies or a meat dish with a sauce to serve over the rice. Instant flavour!

The ingredients you'll need is:

1 cup of long grain brown rice
2 cups of chicken broth organic free range.

To prepare it you will have to add rice and chicken broth to pan stir. Bring to boil. Reduce heat and simmer covered for 45 minutes. Make sure your using low sodium chicken broth.

Hope this helps :)

If you think it's too hard, use more water or use pressure cooker. I like short grain brown rice (sticky rice) which is sold at oriental market.

To change taste, add chicken broth, white wine, soy sauce, or pinch of salt works.

When cooking, whether in rice cooker or pot, add some oil and about two tbsp of soysauce. If you do not like soysauce, replace with 2 tbsp of salt.

Cook brown and white ric allthe time

Definitely go with Ryan S. Answer--I also add hazelnuts or slivered almonds to mine after it is cooked. It's so good!!!
