Do you guys agree that a steak is just a steak?!

Question: Do you guys agree that a steak is just a steak?
I don't understand why there are steaks that cost $3.00 and steaks that cost $50.00. A steak that cost $3.00 is just as good as a $50.00 steak if it's cooked right. Am i right or am i wrong? I just think steak is a overrated meat. I mean every other meat is about the same price range.

Strongly disagree. The more expensive steaks are cut from the best part of the animal, also some breeds of cows produce better tasting more tender meat than others. There is no way that you can really believe that a round steak from a regular cow is as good as Kalbi beef for example. Unless there is something wrong with your tastebuds lol no offense.

Different cut steaks are certainly not all created equal in tenderness or flavour. That's why the price for tenderloin is going to be more than a chuck. A tenderloin is a fantastic cut of meat, however, if you cook it well done, you may as well have bought the chuck steak. It's also true that many cheap cuts of meat can be slow cooked to taste just as good as an expensive cut, so honestly, a steak is not simply a steak. I prefer a nice juicy rib eye steak, second...a t-bone or porterhouse. I do love a nice slow cooked or marinaded cut also. It really comes down to cooking meat properly. Each cut has it's own texture and flavour. It comes down to preference in the end.

Different cuts will yield different results in terms of taste and tenderness. In example, an eye of the round steak, will not taste as good as a rib eye. The difference in being the marbling. The more marbling, equals greater taste from the fat being distributed throughout. Tougher cuts of beef are just more challenging to cook, and don't usually result in better flavour. I would rather pay more money for a steak that is aged and pretty much guaranteed to be more flavourful. It's all in the marbling.

No way, dude! Some steaks cost less than other steak because those people who raised the animals kept constantly feeding them and stuff so they could just kill them, and that it's not as fresh, juicy, tender, and texureeey? as other steaks.
Other steaks cost more since they were raised the proper way, fed NORMALLY, and were only the FINEST and I mean FINEST animals, because I'm super tired right now and forget what animals steak is made of.

No, there really is steak and then there is !steak!

Different cuts of meat do have their own flavor, taste and texture. Then there is how the animal was fed and cared for. That makes a large difference in the taste of the meat.

After that is the preparation and the cooking, of course.

No. A steak is not just a steak. It depends on how old the animal was when it was killed as well as what it ate in it's lifetime. I already know you're going to hate my answer, however, I happen to like cows. There is definitely a difference between choice and wagyu. I don't blame you for your opinion. The united states has a factorized food distribtion system. Who wouldn't object? But still........

a $3.00 steak most likely has more fat in it making it unhealthy, it also most likely came from a different part of the cow. I don't like steaks myself, I find that meat tastes better with something else.

For starters, there are corn fed cows (bad) and grass fed cows (good). The grass fed part is why so many folks are turning to bison.

i dont think youve ever had a good expensive steak if you actually think that.

yeah
