Why do some burger patties label trans fat numbers but not says hydrogenated?!
for example on a label it might say 1.5 grams of trans fat but when you read the ingredients it might just say beef but not hydrogenated. Are these natural occurring trans fat that's why they don't say hydrogenated or something else?
Answers:
Hydrogenated fats come from the addition of fats like shortening, butter or margarine, and these are not commonly added to a meat product, like Hamburger patties, trans fats naturally occur in animal fats and some vegetable fats like coconut, palm, copra and some nut oils, trans fats in meat product are from the natural fats or added one for moisture or texture.
