Why is it called a hamburger if its not made of ham?!


Question: Why is it called a hamburger if its not made of ham?
hamburgers are made of beef not ham, so where did they get the name?

From a city in germany named Hamburg. I believe the first person to develop a hamburger was from Hamburg (a german immigrant)

i think it' has something to do with German origin of hamburger steak.
