Is eating chicken a "black" thing?!

Question: Is eating chicken a "black" thing?
Please note this is funny to me, I'm not on here ranting or angry or complaining. Long story short, me about 10 coworkers went to eat last nite. My boss, a white woman, and her husband, a white male, ordered a chicken platter with bbq sauce and rice topped with gravy. I, a black woman, ordered a seaford pasta plate. Even though we ordered on our own (so it was very clear who ordered what) when the food was ready, she automatically put the chicken platter in front of me, lol. when the waitress walked away, we all were laughing because its like umm... because I'm black I ordered chicken! None of you reading this would know this but I don't eat anything fried. I do eat chicken but usually grilled on a salad. Why is eating chicken always some punch line against blacks as if NO other race eats chicken....

Answers:

I guess just because you'll see a lot of black people in line at churches on a Sunday afternoon...haha

A lot of people thing that eating chicken especially fried chicken is a "black" thing because a lot of black people (including myself) always have chicken at potlucks or get togethers with my family since we love Soul Food. I guess its because its a stereotype. In racist cartoons long ago they would always show black people with food (mostly watermelons) coming out of their purses.

I'm not really sure how it came up but I think every race has its "food stereotypes." I'm latino/hispanic and people will automatically assume that I love beans and rice(which I do) lol. Seafood is kinda stereotyped towards black people too though. Like red lobster. And watermelon. And Corn Bread. And other stuff lol.

No... Chicken is very popular amongst all people.

I think you just had a lazy, uncaring waitress.
I hope you all tipped her 15% or less. lol

I never did understand that. Every race loves chicken, as far as I can tell.

Maybe the waitress got mixed up. That's not racist or because you're black. It's called a mistake

you could say that, it's just something people categorize black people under
like mexicans and beans you know

I eat chicken and im mexican so i dont know what is up with that girl.

I eat chicken too.=)
