Chopped as in the food network show.
i was just wondering ...why do they have to make 4 plates when theres only 3 judges?

Answers:
Because the 4th one is under the cover when they reveal who is being "chopped" - and sent home.
Watching the show...plus I've been in recipes, catering, cooking for years...
There could be a few reasons; perhaps they want to ensure they have an extra one in case one plate got dropped on the floor or one plate got tipped over on the table.
