Help! Should I drink this orange juice?!

Question: Help! Should I drink this orange juice?
Well long story short I have really bad GI problems and acid reflux beyond belief. I am a female and I'll be 15 tomorrow. Lol. Well before I got the bad stomach probs I was at a beach house with my friends in June and all they had to drink was orange juice (besides the nasty water) so I drank some and it was late at night then the next morning I had a really bad stomach ache and I haven't drank orange juice since then.

Well I have a really bad cold right now and I want an orange juice tropicana juice carton which is 8 oz of orange juice and I just took a Zantac 150mg (ant acid). Can I drink the orange juice or will it upset my stomach?

Answers:

you can drink it the medicine will counter act the high ph level of the orange juice.

It might upset your stomach, it might not. Why not try a few sips and wait 10-15 minutes? The effects should be pretty quick if your stomach is sensitive.

I would go for the sandwich.

I think the high acid content in orange juice would not be the best choice.

"There is no agreement on which fruit has the lowest acid content, but the low acid fruits would include apricots, strawberries, peaches, blueberries, huckleberries, raspberries, gooseberries, mangos, nectarines, elderberries, persimmons, olives, sweet apples, cherries, blackberries, sweet plums and fresh figs. These fruits are far less toxifying as compared to acid fruits and are much easier to handle in any amount.

Apricot, plum and peach juices are supposed to be particularly low in acids. As an alternative you could also try dilute juices to help reduce the acid, but you may need to sweeten them for the right flavor."

Grape juice is a lower acid drink with vitamin C. Check out the website below for more information.
