Do baked beans count toward your 5 a day?!

Question: Do baked beans count toward your 5 a day?
iv been told they do and they don't, so I'm not sure, and i eat them quite a lot so would be good if the do

Answers:

lol! :) yes they do, granted not the healthiest one of your 5 a day, but it is all the same :) x

I love Heinz lol

To get the most out of your 5 minimum servings of both fruits and vegetables, you should exclude the beans as one of your 5. Though beans (and meats for that matter) contain protein and fiber, they lack many of the antioxidants, vitamins, minerals, and other nutrients you get from greens and fruits. Beans are like a low end knock off of the real thing. Plus, the greens push through your bowels in a far less offensive way. LoL.

Yes they do - they're full of fibre and protein - but they're not the healthiest because they have so much sodium, which can cause health problems if you make a habit of getting too much. Get low-sodium ones if you can, and try to cut down to avoid getting too much salt.

They definitely count toward your five, but next time choose lentils, or some type of bean that isn't full of sugar.
