Where to buy wonton wrappers?!

Question: Where to buy wonton wrappers?
Are they available at well known grocery stores like , Bel-air/raley's, winco, save mart, and safeway? And what are some brand names?

Answers:

Safeway, wal-mart, king-soopers, pretty much anyplace has them.

They're refrigerated though, which makes them a bit difficult to find. I've usually found them near pre-packaged salads and the refrigerated salad-dressings. I'm not 100% sure of the reasoning, perhaps that's where bean sprouts are also kept and that's somewhat asian.

They're in packages that look very similar to the packs cheese-slices come in, however two stacks wide instead of one.

I'm not sure of the brand names, most stores have them, but only have one brand so there's not much selection.

If you do get them though, I'm not sure what you want to use them for but if you're not going to use them quickly (say within a week), freeze them. It doesn't take long for them to turn a rather unappetizing shade of green.

And if you like chocolate, it's really quite delicious to put a small scoop of Nutella in them, seal them and deep fry them...just a suggestion :)

Yes they should be available at those grocery stores given that they have special designated sections for Asian style foods. However, if you want something more authentic, you could go to an actual Asian market that would certainly carry them. Also, if you want to save a trip to the store, just give them a call. I'm sure they can easily look up wonton wrappers in their inventory.

Hope this helps!

I've bought them at Safeway. I don't remember the section, though. You may have to ask, but they should be there. Might be near the tofu.

Most grocery shops should have them, and they are most likely a strange Asian name, but just ask there.
