Does maple syrup come from maple trees?!

Question: Does maple syrup come from maple trees?
Answers:

As a Canadian and who's family runs a Maple Sugar bush in Northern Ontario, I can say yes to your answer, in fact in Sweden and Russia, they make a syrup much like Maple from the European Birch tree, it is the sap or the sugary fluid the tree uses to feed the limbs leaves and trunk with, after the coldest days of winter are over and the weather starts to warm, the tree's start to pump more sap to feed the tree and that is when the leaves return for the season, in the winter the tree's go dormant and the sap slows.

Yes, absolutely
They are made from the xylem sap of sugar maple, red maple or black maple trees, although syrup can also be made from other maple species such as the Bigleaf Maple

Hope this Helps You :)
