Why is it tomatoes from Subway taste fresh and good?!

Every time I've been to Subway restaurants, their tomatoes have always tasted great! As if they're fresh and not quite as bad as the supermarket kind, why are they so much better than the ones you get from the supermarket?

McDonalds is the same too, their tomatoes are just really good!
