What are your favorite breakfast recipes?!

Question: What are your favorite breakfast recipes?
Even if you just have one, please share it. What recipes do you and your family just love to make for breakfast? I'm not asking for just your favorite breakfast food, but the recipe for it.

Answers:

The casserole is super easy. This is for a small one in a 9x13, but it's easy to double for a lasagna pan for company. I make it on Christmas morning for that reason. I usually double it to have leftovers because it reheats well. You can also substitute crumbled bacon for sausage or add things like mushrooms or sauteed onions, etc.

1 pkg. crescent rolls
1/2 lb. sausage, browned and drained
1 dozen eggs, beaten
1/4 c. milk
1 c. shredded cheddar
salt and pepper to taste

Line the bottom of a baking dish with unrolled crescent rolls. Bake them at 425 for about 5 minutes to just start baking.

Beat eggs with milk then add salt and pepper. Cover crust with sausage then pour on egg mix. Sprinkle cheese across the top. Bake at 425 for 30 minutes. (Eggs will look puffy.) Remove from oven and let sit for about 10 minutes before cutting.

My favourite breakfast meal is cooked oats and grains.
Here's a recipe I like to use:

Put 1/2 cup of traditional rolled oats or 5 grain porridge mix in a large glass bowl, with 1 cup of skim milk, 1 cup of water & some nutmeg. Soak all together overnight in the fridge.

In the morning, add a sliced banana & cook the mixture in the microwave,on high, until the meal has a creamy texture (in my microwave, it takes about 16 minutes for rolled oats & a few minutes longer for 5 grain porridge mix).
After cooking stir in 1 Tb of natural crunchy peanut butter & 2 Tb of natural bran.

This is what my family makes for breakfast on Christmas morning every year and we all love it. The down side to that is that there are no set amounts for it. It's just a "look at the size of your dish and adjust accordingly" dish.
Vegetarian note: you can sub. mushrooms for the sausage in the recipe.

Ingredients:
Mushy white bread
Eggs
Milk
Cheese - cheddar and Monterey jack
Sausage
Butter

Hardware:
Pyrex baking dish
Frying pan
Oven

Cut the crust off of the bread - you need enough to cover the bottom of the baking dish.
Grease the baking dish.
Butter the bread.
Cut or rip the bread into roughly one inch bits and cover the bottom of the baking dish with them.
Crumble and brown the sausage in the frying pan (vegetarians: fry the mushrooms in a little bit of butter).
Let the sausage cool.
Sprinkle the sausage over the bread.
Grate enough of each of the cheeses that together they will be able to be sprinkled over the entire dish.
Sprinkle them over the dish.
Combine the eggs and milk - start with six eggs. Scramble the eggs with a fork or whisk. Add enough milk that it just blossoms back to the top of the eggs. Mix everything together. Add a little more milk.
Pour the milk and egg combination over everything. The mixture should cover all the bread and come to the top of the sasuage and cheeses. If it doesn't, make more of the eggs + milk and add it.
Chill in the fridge overnight so the bread can really soak up the milk/egg.
In the morning, heat the oven to 350 and bake until the top is starting to brown.
It will be very, very hot when you take it out of the oven, so let it cool for 15 minutes or so before even attempting to eat it.

Makes a complete breakfast.

My mom usually uses a 9x14 pyrex baking dish. It takes her a dozen eggs, 1/2-1 cup milk, an entire package of Jimmy Dean sausage, six - ten pieces of bread, 1 1/2 - 2 cups of cheese. She only uses cheddar cheese, but I like to mix in the Monterey jack.

Using those amounts, it bakes for about an hour.

If we're making breakfast for just the two of us, my fiance and I like a simple breakfast of eggs with wheat toast and bacon. But for a group, this is the best recipe I've ever had

sausage and egg casserole with sun-dried tomatoes and mozzarella

1 pound Italian sweet sausage, casings removed
1/2 cup chopped shallots
2 garlic cloves, minced
1/2 cup chopped drained oil-packed sun-dried tomatoes
4 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
5 large eggs
3 large egg yolks
1 cup half and half
1 cup whipping cream
2 cups grated mozzarella cheese
1/2 teaspoon salt

Preheat oven to 375°F. Butter 13x9x2-inch glass baking dish. Sauté sausage in medium nonstick skillet over medium heat until brown and cooked through, breaking up with back of fork into small pieces, about 10 minutes. Add shallots and garlic and sauté 3 minutes. Add sun-dried tomatoes and 2 tablespoons parsley; stir 1 minute. Spread sausage mixture in prepared dish. (Can be made 1 day ahead. Cover and refrigerate.)
Whisk eggs, egg yolks, half and half, whipping cream, 1 1/2 cups cheese, and salt in large bowl to blend well. Pour egg mixture over sausage mixture in dish. Sprinkle remaining 1/2 cup cheese and 2 tablespoons parsley over. Bake until top of casserole is golden brown and knife inserted into center comes out clean, about 30 minutes. Let stand 5 minutes before serving.

A nice heaping bowl or OATMEAL! HOT CEREAL is the best!
1/2c. or Quaker oats.
1/2. or 1c. or skim milk, 1% or organic vanilla flavored soy milk (you can use any milk, I just like those) in with the oats in a bowl.
Microwave for 1 min. be wary and keep watch of the bowl in case the oatmeal overflows. (happened to me before.)
When done, wait a minute for it to cool down.
Add apple slices, berries, some granola r banana slices to the oatmeal for sweeteners! (if you are new to oatmeal, you can add a PINCH of brown sugar OR a PINCH of honey) ^____^ then I usually finish it off with another fruit like a banana or a yoplait yogurt.
OR you could fry some egg whites! I think you know how to do that. I just eliminate the yelow yolk.
I like crepes in the morning1 The recipe for the crepe batter will be online. You fry it on a crepe maker and in the morning its good with jelly or fresh fruits inside the wrap. I like one with banana filling and red caviar filling and wash it down with milk! Its good! Or you could just eat one plain with milk, just as Good! :3 and meat filled ones for dinner! :D
Either way, I go healthy. As you should too! WHy would you go for the sausage and greasy pancakes with butter and syrup and feel bloated after at only noon. Go fresh! Go healthy and eat up! BREAKFAST IS the most IMPORTANT mean of the day so eat up!

Here are two or three tricks from the family. My wife eats toaster waffles most of the time, with about 1/2 cup of Danon Lite and Fit yogurt instead of butter and syrup. I sometimes toast the waffles, drop them in a skillet and fill the holes with Egg Beaters. Wait till it solidifies a little and flip over, repeat. Serve with syrup for instant French Toast. I also like steel cut oatmeal - the killer app is to top it with toasted almond slivers and spray butter.

This is a really good one we sort of made up one weekend morning. It can be fiddled with any way you want, but this is the base of it.

2 pounds hashbrowns or shredded potatoes, fry those up and put them in an 8x8 baking dish.
Some meat of choice (we like a link of chorizo, could use ham, sausage, whatever.) Cook that up, drain, and put on the potatoes.
Whisk 8 eggs with a splash of milk and some Cajun seasoning. Pour over everything. Bake at 400F for a good 20 minutes, take out of the oven, top with shredded cheddar, and bake for a good 10 minutes more.

3 eggs scrambled with a little milk. poor in a hot skillet, add precooked bacon, hot sausage, a little hash browns, onion, zuccini, cheese,,,fold into an omlet, finnish cooking . serve with butter, black strap molassis and busicuits......HOUAH
