Vegans only, please?

Answers:
I was vegan a few yrs ago, just started again. What I bought then and what I just bought recently are:

veggie dogs
soy pepperoni slices
breads
brown rice
spaghetti sauce
soy cheese
vegan chili beans
vegan corn dogs
vegan burger patties
soy milk (have always bought this, even when I wasn't veg)
fresh and frozen veggies
fruit (sometimes, I like veggies much better)
peanut butter
soy yoghurt
dry cereal
canned beans
corn tortillas
oatmeal
raw sugar
maple syrup
coffee, tea (okay okay, whether veg or not I buy it)
flaxseeds
olive oil (mmmm!!!)
soy ice cream
dry legumes (pintos, black beans, lentils, peanuts - yes, peanuts are legumes, not nuts)
nuts and seeds
hommos
Arabian bread aka pita
bags of salad
potatoes (both sweet and Russet)
corn

There are LOTS of things to eat on a vegan diet, yum!

Wide varieties of colors ONLY. Colors are natural ways of telling your body needing variety.

a lot of nuts, berries, veggies, and fruits.

My niece is vegan but doesn't like vegetables so she eats a lot of rice milk, most kinds of English muffins, peanut butter and some fruit.

mostly eggs.

Peanut butter
Whatever yummy fruits are in season/ cheap
Canned beans, various veggies, etc
Amy's non-dairy pot pies
Frozen Fruits and veggies

Typical staples i buy are: brown rice, barley, corn meal, pasta, split peas, lentils, chick peas, beans of all kinds(lima, white, roman, mung). Some tofu (though i'm starting to make it myself), occasional veggie sausauge. Vegan soy yogurt. Condiments like soy sauce and mustard, ketchup. Maple syrup.Vegtable oil. Unbleached flour, granulated sugar(supposedly it comes from beets, therefore not char-refined), baking powder, egg replacer (i actually use the soy pulp from my soymilk machine), and soy milk, to make cookies, cake, etc. My favorite cookies are anise seed, chopped rosemary, jam in the center, pumpkin, nut and raisin, and old fashioned peanut butter. They also make delicious cakes.

Fresh vegtables and fruits i buy what is seasonal and affordable.

Typical things i buy are garlic, onions, fresh herbs (rosemary, parsley, cilantro, basil), greens( collard, mustard, turnip, rappini). Cabbages, carrots, celery, apples, pears, tomatoes, broccoli, cauiflower, eggplant, mushrooms.

Our shopping list is similar to Dolores' but we also have a garden, so basically, especially during warmer months, we never buy any produce. Additionally, we buy lots of interesting stuff from the Asian markets, different sea weeds, acorn powder (makes jello, really!). If I don't know what something is for, I just ask. Asian markets are loaded with vegan stuff. The drink section has great stuff too... like all kinds of kids drink boxes made from rice milk, or soy milk, or interesting fruits etc.

Well, the list just goes on and on and on... it would take pages and pages to list all the ingredients we have in our cupboards which we do not buy each week, from different flours, to different noodles, spices, herbs, etc. We'll try just about anything once. We also hit the Indian markets too. Middle Easter places... Recently I introduced papadum (or papad) to my family. Just quickly roast in the toaster oven -- yum! The kids love it, and me too. Muruku is another that is great. Like I said, list goes on and on. We try everything.
