I need a list of food items with gelatin so I can avoid them?
Please put down as many foods/brands that contain gelatin as you can think of. Also, do Arby's fries have any animal fat or anything?
Answers:
Common examples of foods that contain gelatin are gelatin desserts or jelly, trifles, aspic, marshmallows and confectioneries such as Peeps and gummy bears. Gelatin may be used as a stabilizer, thickener, or texturizer in foods such as ice cream, jams, yogurt, cream cheese, margarine; it is used, as well, in fat-reduced foods to simulate the mouth feel of fat and to create volume without adding calories.
Gelatin is used for the clarification of juices, such as apple juice, and of vinegar. Isinglass, from the swim bladders of fish, is still in use as a fining agent for wine and beer.
Arby’s uses partially hydrogenated corn oil and soybean oil to fry their fries.

r u by chance muslim? cause i know muslims(like myself)cant eat gelatin....thats something id like to know myself.
Wow-Read Labels!!! Even Vegetable stocks have animal geletine in it. Most processed foods have gelatine. Arby's Fries-you need to contact their headquarters and find out what they flash fryy them in or who there food provider is and contact them. You are asking a loaded question, even desserts contain gelatin, like mousses or anything that has a shape to it which is not baked. If you alergic to gelatin or you are trying to stay away from it because of animal biproducts, I suggest you read the ingredients and be careful with vegetable stocks and sauces and deserts.
JELLO, marshmallos, gummy bears
and a whole bunch of stuff...it's never ending...just read the labels
also Gelatin -- typically constitutes the shells of pharmaceutical capsules in order to make their contents easier to swallow
Read the ingredients on the food. That is what I do. Also, many fast food restaurants use vegetable oil, but I think if you go to their website, they might have something.
jello has gelatin in it. I'm not sure about Arby's fries, but they do cook them in some sort of grease.
Like everyone else said, it's a long, long, long list. Read the labels.
I find it's easier to focus on what does NOT have gelatin. But there again, read the labels. Start with basic foods, like fruits, vegetables, flour, soy milk, etc.
Some products, like yogurt, only usually contain gelatin. Your best bet are whole fat, unsweetened, unflavoured yogurts. You can flavor them at home with fresh fruit or (gelatin-free) jams. Most reduced fat products have added gelatin to give some density.
To fully avoid gelatin, you may need to do grocery shopping in speciality stores (ethnic/health/organic/vegan) or sections. And make a lot of your own food.
Have fun!
Oh, and Kosher gelatin is still gelatin.
