Does anyone know the best time of year to buy this wonderful vegatable? If so, where can you buy it from?

Answers:
According to the seed merchant, Thompson & Morgan, it crops from late summer to winter.

It certainly is scrummy, although I was slightly disconcerted to find it being used as a decoration on ice cream at a dinner I went to recently!

that would be a term for a style of painting

After looking this up, I found it is in the broccoli
family, so knowing this I would say it is a winter
vegetable. You would probably find it in a organic store that specializes in odd vegetables.
real cool looking
