Dairy & soy free cheese?!

Question:

Dairy & soy free cheese?

Does anyone know of any dairy free and soy free cheese? My son is highly allergic to both and I'd love to find a cheese substitute for him to try. Thanks!

FOUND ONE!

http://www.galaxyfoods.com/ourbrands/usa...

there are rice and nut based cheeses. i googled it (i don't eat cheese and I didn't know this before)

also there is a milk called "rice dream" that is supposed to be good my sister likes it (allergic as well). it is kosher too (if you are jewish) http://www.tastethedream.com/products/ri... careful though they make "soy dream" as well.

I don't eat milk products and it isn't so bad. Just make sure he has enough calcium in his diet. I recommend a calcium supplement because most people think they can reach the proper amount in natural foods but are fooling themselves. Milk is the number one calcium provider by far and without it you should either have vitamins or a food that artificially adds calcium like tropicana calcium orange juice.

p.s. I think this one is soy free as well: http://www.eatintheraw.com/ someone on a forum said they liked it, don't take my word for it.

Hope this helps.

There is a product called 'Vegan Slices'. I know it is dairy-free (and that includes NO casein either), but I'm not sure if it is soy-based. A friend of mine is a vegan and eats that, but in your case, with the allergy potential, I cannot verify the soy part.

Suggestion......write to the manufacturers of a product that your son does eat.....ask them if there are any "cheese" alternatives.

Look at Nut Cheeses.. Almond is the easiest one to find
or Rice Cheeses. I think they all contain Casein, like Whey a dairy by-product. My own allergies include Soy & Dairy including casein.
I have found I can do Goat cheese with very little reaction. Alta Dena makes a nice fairly mild one, not like Feta which is very strong...I make great pizzas with it.
