Is rice fattening??
i heard it was and i heard is wasnt??
Answers:
Rice alone is not fattenng, if you just eat 1 bowl of it during 1 meal and eat 3 meals a day. But nobody does this and they eat rice with alot of salty Chinese sauce, or stir fried dishes. Therefore there is weight gain. The more tasty dishes there are, the more rice you take to complement to heavy taste of the dishes, so the end result is too much calories and fats.
Just white rice.
rice isn't fattening but white rice is a bad carb...you should try brown rice it's better for you
yes and no becasue it depends how and what ingredients you put in it but mostly if you don't put anything in it it isn't fattening
Rice actually contains very little fat. The reason why some people say it is, is because of the "carbohydrate" in it. Carbohydrate converts to energy in the human body. If you dont use the energy that the rice provides (and you eat too much of it) the carbohydrate can convert to fat in your body. Just watch how much you eat.
It has no fat, but it has calories.
Starch has calories like potatoes and bread. Just watch your amounts.
No, but it is filling. Eating just a little can fill you up faster than the same amount of any other food. But like with any other food, it does contain calories that you should work off.
no not at all it is good for u it is not bad trust me i no cause we in my family cook a lot of rice and yea it is not bad for u.
do u know how good rice is for u? it's full of lots of vitamans and fiber so evn is it is a little fattening it could save your life! Eat it.
PS I don't know if it's fattening or not.
it depends on the person eating it. i use brown rice! and basmati! i can't eat "common white rice" it bloats me up, i know ppl who can eat it and have no bad reactions to it,i know others aside from myself who cannot eat it they gain weight real easy from it!(but, damn it when i make "spanish rice" for my family i use white)
no way, not at all, sumo wrestlers eat it by the gallon
no
Yes and no. It does not have any "direct" fat, but if your body has enough carbohydrates, it will convert the starch into sugar that is then stored in you body as fat.
NO Rice, Potatoes nor even Pasta have NO FAT. It's what we put on them or prepare them adds the fat.
rice is a starch which is carbs and lots of it but it is not fattening as long as you have it plain without any added seasonings and sauces
Of course.....
rice is a source of carbohydrate
rice has complex carbohydrates 100 % nothing else. So, if you don't do hard work physically avoid them otherwise definetely they are fattening.
Once in a while is not bad. But if your diet contains rice on daily basis then you should try avoiding white rice. It is bad carbs. You can still go for brown rice if you want.
brown rice is healthier because it has fiber that is more filling, and vitamins,,, rice is a carbohydrate, we need them to live. If you eat more calories than you are burning, anything can be fattening. My friend did ESL teaching in china, they said if you eat rice first, you will be fat, if you eat it last (after more low cal veggies and lean meat or tofu) you will be thin. The theory behind that is that you won't gorge on it and fill up on lower calorie food and eat the starch in moderation.
