Yes, I am because I don't agree with the factory farming process. I think it's bad enough to raise an animal just to be killed, but the fact that they have terrible lives and go through a lot of suffering before they die is unacceptable to me.

If the world was still wild, and people hunted for their meat (not for sport!) I would find eating meat a little more acceptable because the animals would be free and would have a chance at survival.

I have been a vegetarian for 12 years now.
To be simple...
I am because I've never liked meat...and I love animals!!?

no i am not. the simple logic is if all be vegetarian than their would be no trees or plants and if all would be non- veg than their would be no animals, so god distributed people in many sections like some eat only veg, some dont eat onions, potato etc and some are non- veg, and they dont eat some fish while other person love that fish or meat...

I′m not, but I′m envy of who is vegetarian.....I hate vegetable, Just like 2 or 3 kinds of fish, and my maindiet is meat. I really feel bad in eat meat, already tried soy, eat only past, etc...anyway, I will keep trying to stop eat meat.

I was "born" one...and my mother never ate meat either. I don't know what I am missing and I am fine with that!

im not.

i eat ALL kinds of meat.

R U?

How could you eat something with a face???its like eating another human!!!

YES!!! i am cuz its wrong to eat an animal, and they were tortured...and its just plain nasty!!! roxs that you r!

I am a vegetarian for a very simple reason, I love animals and don't believe in eating them. I would be a vegan except for I am allergic to soy and all nuts ( I have a lot more allergies I just wont list them). Without those I have no source protein.

I used to be vege, but then I grew up

I am a vegetarian, but after reading most of the answers in this section for the past few months, it seems like meat-eaters outnumber us in this section. Just read through the list of vegetarian questions. "Wouldn't you just like a steak?" is respnded by about twenty "Absolutely!"s.

I have been a vegetarian for several years for environmental reasons. If you're not a vegetarian, I don't want to lecture you. But if you're interested, just Google "environment + vegetarianism" and you should get tons of information.

My sister is a vegetarian because she is squeamish and after seeing PETA's videos, she doesn't want to harm any more piggies or bunnies.

Many others are vegetarians because their religion requires it. I don't want to spread misinformation, so I won't elaborate.

It's also really good for your health. Yet again, Google can provide you with more additional info if you want it.

Well since you asked, I am not. I believe that humans were not designed to be vegetarian (although we can be fairly close) and certainly not vegan. The staggering amount of effort vegans have to make to remain healthy seems to be a good tribute to this.
I will grant you that animals are (very) often treated (very) badly prior to slaughter and I am against this. I see no reason or justification in not treating them to at least reasonable conditions. But I believe there is nothing wrong with killing an animal you intend to eat (especially if wild or kept well). Killing it for kicks/sport, I believe, is wrong.
To each their own. If you are happy being vegetarian, good luck with that. But I will take issue with assertions that eating meat is wrong on either ethical or health grounds.

I'm a Vegan because I support animal rights, good health, environmental protection, and I prefer the taste of non-animal food.

Edit: @ fucose_man, I had no idea the trouble I have to go though to eat a Vegan diet every day and still maintain my health I find it extremely easy to eat a Vegan diet and remain healthy. After the first few weeks of getting use to it, This way of life couldn't be easier.

Nope, mainly because meat is good. I also love vegetables. I like them even more when they are piled up next to a nice center cut pork chop.

I've been a vegetarian for 8 years because of health reasons and I love animals.

I'm a vegetarian just because I've seen how they slaughter animals that people consume day in and day out...to me that is inexcusable just because they dont need to die for someones taste buds.

Yes I Am Because Of These Sad Videos I Saw About What They Do To Animals.

And What Is More Sad Is That These Animals Dont Have Voices So It Isnt Illegal To Slaughter Them!
