Why do people become vegans?!

Question:

Why do people become vegans?

i notcied most vegans are screwed up people what is up with that even animals drink milk

Answers:
They do it so they can feel morally superior. I think THAT is the driving force. They can feel like they are somehow better than you by chewing on freakin' tofu.
More meat for me!!

The answer is http://meat.org . Did you know the milk humans get from the cow and then do all that stuff to it that if they give it to the baby cows it would hurt it tremendously.

because they are idiots.

because they believe animals have a huge purpose for this world and blah blah blah. Of course there are room for God's creatures!

....right next to the mash potatoes.... ^_^

Because were not all idiots.

Leave them alone. They became vegans because they want to. BELL they are not idiots, they are just people like us.

they may want to live beter life

No. dont be so ignorant...

People become Vegans mostly for health reasons, for some people meat doesnt sit well in their stomachs, for others they just cant stand the thought of eating blood. For this new year I chose to eat less meat
1. it is not very healthy to be eating so much meat, also you gain all the unhealthy weight eating loads of meat rather than veggies
2. i dont eat very healthy to begin with
3. your body recieves more energy when you eat live things like veggies and fruits verses eating dead things like animals. I will still eat meat but simply train my body to have a healthier diet.

(which is smart, more people should do so, when we are all over 60 we wont hate ourselves for all the junk we consumed)

People fell that eating meat is wrong. To us (vegetarians) we think that there are other alternatives to enjoying food than hurting an animal simply for our taste buds, AND NO, VEGETARIANS AREN'T IDIOTS!

Most vegans aren't rejecting the milk itself - what they object to is the exploitation of animals, the cruelty involved in getting cows to produce the milk for humans to consume. Would you like being kept continously pregnant just so someone could drink your milk, and take your babies away each time? I bet you'd feel pretty upset and pissed off if you were treated like that, and then killed off when you were too exhausted to continue! This is how animals are treated, and vegans are people who are deciding they don't want anything to do with such cruelty. How is that screwed up? If you were lower in the food chain, I bet you'd want someone to stand up for you!

i like the feeling and also different from others of course.

vegetarian r healthy and fit instead of eating delicious greesy food try healthy foods like vege dogs and salad.

animals drink milk when they are babies because that is how they get the nutrience they need. once grown they dont drink milk, humans are the only ones who do that. and vegans are not screwed up (yeah there are some exceptions to that statement but thats the same with omnivores.) i personally became vegan because i dont want to support the dairy, egg and meat industries because of the suffering it causes the animals. i dont want any animal to have to suffer for my meal.

I'm an omnivore and my husband is a vegan. The main reason he's a vegan is that he simply doesn't like the idea of eating animals. He's against the whole factory farming business, and feels that if he can live without hurting/killing animals, then he will.

And for those who think that they become vegan to feel superior must not be meeting the right people in general. As I said before, I'm not a vegan or even a vegetarian and my husband has never given me any grief about it. Everybody's got their own life to live. If that makes you screwed up, I'll take it over normal.
