It is a great desicion, no matter what your reasons are, you will be doing a great favor to our planet.
I would suggest to get a vegetarian book, in there you can find what equivalent you need to eat instead of meat, like for example beans. You shouldn't take a desicion without a guide (either a nutritionist or a book), yes you will lose weight but you do not want to get ill. Good luck!

stop eating meat...
Well, logically - stop eating meats. Make sure you have different versions of protein though. Read up on this via internet sites and find out which is best for you.
Vegetarians are usually healthier, but some are not...pastas and breads carbs and calories add up fast! Eat lots of fruits and veggies and beans if you want to be skinny vegetarian. Good LUCK!
You're first step is to stop eating meat, and it isn't true veggies don't lose more weight. I used to be one and added meat back in and it has made no difference. Just watch your calories and exercise to lose weight. ?
do you like meat like me?
Here are some sites for you.

Vegatarians do loose more weight because they are not getting the body fat from meat that they need. Im not a vegetarian but you should eat a lot of salad a vegtables and fruit. It is not healthy for your body to turn on meant. Meat provides you with protien which you need and being a vegatarian sometimes has side effects. My aunt is a vegatarrian and weighs less that 100 pounds and she is in her forties.
It's a little more complicated that just not eating meat. If you wish to get the ample protein your body needs for day-to-day living (and you should), you will need to learn how to combine your protein sources to make complete proteins.
Thumbnail sketch: There are 20 amino acids or protein building blocks, needed for the human body to survive. 11 the body will make. But 9 must come directly from food. To get those 9, you must be sure that you eat them about every other day.
This is why certain combos are classics, and healthy: beans and rice. Hummus and pita bread. PNB on bread or crackers. That's just a start.
So get a book on eating Vegetarian, perferably one that has milk and egg sources (ovo-lacto-vegetarians) and read up on what you plan to do.
Best wishes!
stop eating meat of course but make sure that your eating plenty of protein or else you'll get sick feelings and you might get dizzy. that happened to me cuz i wasn't careful enough so i didn't eat enough protein for the first couple of weeks.
I have been a vegetarian for 10 years. VIsit www.peta.org Peta has a vegetarian starter kit that you can get for free. They explain a lot about becoming a vegetarian. You will get everything you need nutritionally as long as you have a meal plan. As for myself, I am a lacto-vegetarian, I only eat/drink milk products. No eggs, meat (includes redmeat, fish, chicken, etc). Also, I do not eat gelatin, this is an animal derived ingredient.
Anyway, there is a lot of information, I definitely suggest you visit www.peta.org. A good place to purchase from online is www.veganstore.com
Good luck!!
I really suggest that you check out this site: www.veggie123.com. There is a free ebook there that talks about everything from nutrition to differnent types of vegetarianism.
Good luck
go to peta.com and they have plenty of recipes and information on nutritional needs for vegetarians.
don't eat anymore meat...lol
Losing weight is one thing. But caring for the animals is another. If you want to be a vegetarian. Think of a goal you could set like what/who it would help if you become a vegetarian, it will get you motivated easier if you like meat. Try substituting meat with something similar to it. So you'll have the same taste but you won't be eating meat. You really don't need to be a vegetarian to lose more weight. You could exercise, have a balanced diet, and control what you eat.
ok so you stop eating meat. you know... beef, steak, chicken, lamb, turkey, etc... you decide weather you want to eat fish or not.
dont eat meat
First of all, thats not really true. i was a vegetarian and i actually gained weight. it depends on the portions of food you eat and how much salt and sugar is in the food. but u can but vegetarian hamburgars and pizza and speghetti and things like that. but dont eat meat. but like vegetarian meat and things like that. also dont eat a lot of break and junk food because that makes you gain weight.
If you want to be vegaterian you shoould have a good reason like mine is because of my love of animals. To make it easy for you to be a vegaterian do what I did. First plan out different meats to get rid of over a course of yime get rid of one meat at a time. Soon it will get easyer and your will power will get stronger
don't turn vegetarian its not healthy
but if u do make sure u get protein from something cuz most of it comes from meat
but dont eat meat obviously
Eat only veggies. No meat, no cheese, no milk, no eggs..... only veggies. Good luck. I'm going for a Cheeseburger. LOL
eat some freaking vegetables! duh
eat only veggies and fruit, no forms of animal products. Take supplements
we eat lots of veggies and its great to turn into a vegeterian so that they would stop killing pigs cows and other poop animals
I've been a vegetarian for 17 years. One day I gave up red meat. A week later, I gave up chicken. Two weeks later, I gave up fish. I never ate any other types of meat.
If you try to give it all up one day, you'll get frustrated. It's much easier now a days since most restaurants offer vegetarian options.
Eat lots of protien! Morningstar makes great faux meat products.
If you want to be a vegeterian because you want to lose weight then tour a total A hole. You have pointy teeth for a reason.
Depends on what type of vegetarian you wanna become. Lacto-Vegetarian, Ovo-Vegetarian, Semi-Vegitarian, etc. But if you are turning a vegetarian, just to avoid killing a living being, then beware that plants have life too and they too can feel pain and even cry.
On the other hand, if you wanna just lose weight and tone up your body, then there is no point in turning to be a vegetarian, you can do that by proper exercise and diet chart including non-vegetarian food.
Well everyone has different ways. Some says stop eating meat, yes that's basic.
What I do is I linked vegetarian as a religious thing.
I know I'm not Buddhis, but one day I search about Buddha's life in Google Video. I was so so change coz of that video. It tells u a lot.
Then the next day my hole thinking pattern changes. I started to think if I eat and eat like a pig(!) I would be a 'blind' human. I think about Africa, people don't eat food so much and I compare with here, the States, people has too much food.
By then my mind has been more open, and I realize that a vegan is not a losing weight program!
Umm, I have a suggestion. STOP EATING MEAT! That includes chicken, beef, and pork. This is a very drastic decision, so take caution b4 u decide. Good luck and may the force be with u!
You shouldn't stop eating meat just to lose weight. It doesn't work for everyone. Well first stop eating meat. Then find veggie recipes online.
well the best thing to do is to advoid as much meat as possiable and eat alot of protein or well just start eating veggies at least ince a day in place of the meat then keep that up for a week then add another meal in and just keep doing thet until you have no more meat left in your diet. i know this because of i am a vegaterian and i did this so i hope it works out for you
