hmm baked potatoes are yummy and easy to make. You can microwave them or put in the oven. I also like to make soup. hmm, some other stuff= cereal. lol. I love cereal. Not the sugary stuff- the kind that is loaded with vitamins. Boca patties are good. Ohhh I do recommend getting the meatless bbq ribs if you can find them. Those are good with mashed potatoes. I also love eating grilled peanut butter sandwiches (ya know, with bananas-like how Elvis ate 'em)
I eat lots of tofu too. I don't want to scare you away with how to prepare that. You say you are bad at cooking. :D I go to my fave Chinese restaurant and the family knows me. They hook me up with vegetarian food all the time.

Good luck on being vegetarian. :) It can be fun and nutritional if done right.

Well if you don't mind cheese, Eggplant Parmesian! if you do mind cheese Eggplant Soymesian!

Go to www.ichef.com. They have thousands of RECIPES

Kentucky fried tofu.

Sounds kind of bad, but it's delicious.

ingredients:
tofu cut into strips (press with a paper towel first to dry it)
Mustard
Nutritional yeast
Flour
Olive or vegetable oil.

Mix together mustard and nutritional yeast until you get a wet, sticky paste. Dip strips of tofu, or chicken substitute (gross) in the mustard, yeast mixture. Cover with flour and fry in the oil.

Try serving in a pita with lettuce tomato and onion.

pineapple tofu curry

1 box of Golden brand curry
potatoes, carrots, onions chopped
can of pineapple chunks
tofu sliced in small rectangles
vege oil

1. prepare the curry according to the box. (which includes adding the veges)
2. Heat vege oil in a frying pan and fry both sides of tofu until brown
3. Drain the tofu and add it to the curry along with the pineapple

GOD it's so good!

A book you might like to get is "Laurels Kitchen" It has been one of my favorite vegetarian cookbooks for a long time. I uses ingredients that are easy to find in an average grocery store and the recipes are nice and straight forward. My daughter liked "The Teens Vegetarian Cookbook" She still likes to make me the angel hair with broccoli from the book. As your cooking skill increase,(and they will!) you will want to try other books, but these two are good starting books.

Well, I like spinach & cheese ravioli:

14 oz. Fresh Spinach
3/4 Ricotta Cheese
1 egg
1/2 cup grated parmesan
salt and pepper

** cook spinach until tender, drain and chop finely
** add other filling ingredients and stir

1 1/2 cups flour
3 eggs

** beat eggs
** slowly sift in flour
** knead for about 10 minutes
** Roll dough on slightly floured surface and cut into strips suitable to make ravioli, tops and bottoms
** Roll small portions of filling into balls and place them along the strip
** Cover with and upper strip and cut into squares
** Firmly press strips until the filling is secure in the ravioli

** Let dry for about 30 minutes after finished
** Boil in hot water for 4-5 minutes

They're really good. I just use a regular sauce but, a white or butter sauce might better with this.

Check out http://www.recipezaar.com they have all kinds of vegan recipes.
I'm not a vegan....trying but not there yet. But I've recently fell in love with Boca Burgers!
Their made of soy protein, and come in different varieties. In the frozen food section. Cheap..about 75 cents a burger, and actually taste good!

Also.....you can pick from all the boxed varieties of rice a roni, pasta mixes and sauces, and check out whats available at health food stores. I bought vegan sloppy joe mix. Pretty tasty, and all i needed to add was water and tomato paste.

Best of luck...and check out that site.

learning to cook is the funniest part of it all....besides saving 95 lives a year. try the source link. i've tired sevral of there recipies and omg they are soooooooo good. and they are full of the protien and nutrients you need. just make sure you do get enough nutrients. being new to this i suggest educating yourself. google "vegetarian" and i'm sure you can get some great facts, etc. good luck and i support you!!!!
