How do you no when apples are bad?!

Question:

How do you no when apples are bad?

Answers:
Cut it in half. If the core is caramel-brown, and spongy, it is probably rotten. Also, if you bite it, and it has a whiskey-like aftertaste, it's probably begun to ferment (eat a few, and tell me if you get drunk!)... A wrinkly skin doesn't necessarily mean the apple is bad, it means it is just a little dehydrated. These are really good, b/c the flavors actually concentrate some. Great for baking!
