Why can vegetarians eat eggs but not meat? it is an animal?
I dont get it
Answers:
An egg is not fertilized and therefor is not seen as killing an animal -- vegetarians are usually against killing animals. Vegans tend to draw the line at cruelty to animals and see the act of forcing chickens to lay eggs as cruel so therefor will not eat eggs. Though some Vegetarians will not eat eggs as well. It's the same rules with milk and cheese.
egg is not a vegetarian product.
usually vegans (the most extreme form of vegeetarians) don't eat any form of animals
different types of vegetarians have different restrictions
it depends on what u think because an egg is from a chicken which is an animal. so it is up to the person.
I dont get it either, not a true vegetarian I guess.
It's unfertilised. There's no guy chickens around on the egg farms they're never going to be fertilised, and the egg would never grow to be a chicken.
Vegans don't eat eggs because the process by which eggs are produced is cruel to the hens and male chicks that are an unwanted byproduct of the industry. Veganism is about not supporting industries that sponsor cruelty, even if the food itself wasn't 'slaughtered' in the conventional sense.
they have double standards
some vegetarians think that because eggs are not actually meat, they are ok to eat. however, i'm a vegetarian and i have never eaten an egg in my life (all though i will admit i have eaten products made from eggs) because i find eggs disgusting.
Eggs are not an animal as they are not fertilized. Eggs do not come from a dead animal.
It's not an animal. It's not alive and never was.
