Here is a reminder for all you vegetarians out there. DO NOT TRY THE BURGER KING VEGGIE BURGERS! Like omg I tried them and they tasted horrible! So save your money. You;re better off going to the store and buying you some Morningstar or Boca burgers and making them at home.
turnips...sharp after taste
it was some frozen indian entree dish. it had spinach that looked like it came from a baby's diaper (i know, gross, but that is exactly what it looked like) and the smell was so bad that i couldnt even taste it. ehhh im sticking with home cooked meals from now on :)
tofu dogs, definitely.
Cooked spinach. >_<
It was at school, though, not a friend's house. The cafeteria monitor force-fed it to me when I was in kindergarten because I refused to try it on my own. Kindercare is evil.
Dole Spinach & green onions from Taco Bell.................
Tempeh burgers (unflavored). My parents used to make me eat these when I was growing up (mid 80's,prior to gardenburgers). There weren't many vegetarian choices then. I can't believe they still sell these things. Blahh!!
i once had an almond hamburger alternative that was just awful
Probably the vegetarian hot dogs from Morning Star Farms. I just never really liked the taste of hot dogs in general! The honey mustard chicken tenders (I don't know the correct name but it also comes from Morning Star) comes in a close second. Nothing of the vegetarian kind really grosses me out though :)
Veggie dogs (never liked the real ones...) and the burgers, like Gardenburgers, that are mass produced smashed together veggies. Like, get an actual veggie sandwich or a boca burger, don't mix em!
veggie meatless sushi....gag
A vegan cannelloni dish which had eggplant and some other stuff as filling. The main problem was that it had waaaaay too much cumin. My husband and I could only choke down a few bites before tossing the rest of the dish, and it put us both off cumin entirely for quite a while.
Speaking of eggplant, one of the other grossest things I've tried was stuffed eggplant. It was tough but mushy at the same time, and it just didn't work at all.
Morningstar Farms fake sausage links. They tasted like cardboard. And I eat a lot of cardboard so I would know.
The burger king veg burgers are pretty gross.
I really hate the burgers that are supposed to mimic a real burger. I prefer those to be almost like a different food variety altogether. Gardenburger makes one called vegetable medley that isn't like a burger at all. Yummy. Put a slice of Provolone, and put in on a whole wheat bun, and it's fantastic!
Like I said stay away from anything that is supposed to mimic a "burger", or the taste of one.
Soy burgers when they're soggy--not that they're good in the first place, but that makes them so much worse!!!!
Best kind? Pasta primevera (sp?) made with a mixture of tofu and soymilk (blended) instead of cheese. It's the best...I had it for Christmas dinner!!!
Soy hot dogs. Uggggh.
Mock Duck.It wasn't gross,i just couldn't stomach it.it looked too real.It had skin and everything, the skin even had little ridges to make it look like feathers had been plucked from the skin.It was weird.
Some kind of brown rice and vegetable casserole that was just about inedible. The rice was so underdone that it was crunchy, but the veggies made up for it. . .they were like mush.
And I have no idea of what the sauce was made from, but it tasted like it was bought at Save-a-Lot-of-Toxic-Waste. Nasty does not even begin to describe the taste.
my friend is veg. (so am i ) but before i went veg, she gave me some silken tofu and i literally threw up! but now i love it!
A vegetable curry "stew" that had tofu stirred into it. The tofu was smashed up in irregular shards (ugly), plus tofu should never be served with curry, much less IN it, plus curry is nasty anyway.
I was queasy for days after.
Anything with tempeh. It's a texture thing.
