What is the difference between the spellings 'vegan' and 'veg*n'?!

Question:

What is the difference between the spellings 'vegan' and 'veg*n'?

I've noticed some people write it as vegan and some as veg*n... is there a difference or any reason why it's sometimes spelled differently?

Answers:
"Veg*n" means vegan OR vegetarian. It is used when the difference doesn't matter. Ex. Veg*ns can't eat pork. Vegans are the "stricter" type of vegetarians, that do not eat eggs or dairy.

Never knew there were two different spellings

Perhaps veg*n is used by illiterates who can't spell 'vegetarian', and the * indicates the missed letters.
Otherwise, I have no idea

I think Veg*n stands for vegetarians and vegans, Vegan is just for vegans.

Yeah, I've noticed this on various websites. As far as I can tell, veg*n is used when people want to refer to both vegetarian and vegan in one word without having to type both!

veg*n is short for both...it includes both diets.

it means vegans and vegetarians collectively.

I often use V&V
