Question:

Where to vegetarians get protein?

any shake recipes or anything helpful?

Answers:
Protein is in everything...not just animal products. Whole grains, beans, nuts are great sources but even veggies have protein. Unless you live in a third world country, chances are you will get enough.

Bread, Rice, beans, Dairy products, nuts, soya, eggs, textured vegetable protein (meat substitute), bean sprouts

There is protein powder you can buy that will give you lots of protein, there is also supplements you can take as well. But a lot of veggies have proteins, and nuts.

Are you a simple vegitarian, or a vegan or a ova-vegan? Basically can you eat dairy? If so, hard cheese is a great and yummy source of protien.

Beans!!!!!!!

Tofu is great for protein! Try blending 1/4 of a block of silken tofu with some banana, strawberries, blueberries and some fruit juice. I often eat this for breakfast or after a workout. You can get creative with the fruits, or try to add different things to the tofu. Peanut butter has a lot of protein, too. I also recommend seitan, which you can either make yourself or buy in the store. There are a ton of recipes with seitan online as well!

Vegetarians can get protein from products like soy, tofu, protein shakes that are vegan. If you want more information about some high quality protein shakes email me.

Protien is composed on amino acids. All foods are composed from different amino acids. When you eat a "protien" food, example, meat, your body has to break it down into amino acid before it can be used by the body. When you eat a vegetable it also has to be broken down into amino acids before it can be used. Therefore its not "protien" you want or need per se but quality and varied amino acids.

Legumes, nuts and dairy. Smoothie with yogurt, non-fate milk powder and peanut butter or fruits.

in like peas or beans.

Nuts, dairy, meat substitutes, soy, eggs, ect. You can buy protein powder, tastes good in your favorite milkshake or smoothie (just put in your favorite ice cream or sorbet and lots of fruit and the powder). You can also buy protein bars, but it's hard to find good ones.

From food. Beans, fruits, vegetables, etc.
