Does anyone have a recipe for vegan tamales?!

Question:

Does anyone have a recipe for vegan tamales?

I'm not so intrested in vegan tamale pies, I'd like the actual individual tamales, the kind in the corn husk?

Answers:
Do you already understand how to make tamales? I can give you detailed instructions but I don't follow any exact recipe when I make mine.

I start with dry masa harina and just add water and salt to it, no fat at all. Makes for a 'cleaner' tasting tamal. My filling varies but I usually use black beans mixed with diced chilis and also mix soft tofu with some nutritional yeast for a 'cheese sauce' that I drizzle over the beans before rolling. Since corn husks take so long to soften I'll often use squares of wet parchment paper or banana leaves instead of the husks. You can basically stuff your tamales with anything that tastes good!

Want to really amaze people? Slather brownie batter on the husks and fill with some fresh berries!

You would be able to find the recipes at Recipes.com... They have any recipe you may need...

I don't know about a recipe but Whole Foods carries a brand (Banyan Foods). Banyan is distributed out of Houston, TX. I am not a vegan but these tofu tamales are the freakin' bomb! They have spicy and mild. Enjoy!

I don't know but here is a link where you might find that.
