I'm asian to. Laos actually and most people i know eat mostly meat because most of our traditional dishes mostly have a lot of meat and some of them might have a salad or steamed or cooked vegetables for the side dishes but the main course is mostly meat. that's what my friends and family do anyway. ?

Hmm. Not all asians are vegetarians most of them are meat lovers. I'm also asian and I could never ever become vegetarian. But most vietnamese, chinese, and phillipino are vegetarians.

I don't think so. Buddhist monks are vegetarians though.

correct me if i am wrong'.. but in Asian country there is Little to eat so meat....any type of meat is good to see

I'm sure there are some statsitics out there saying what percentage of Asians, Americans, etc. are vegetarians but I have no clue.

I'm not sure but my korean friend and her mom are vegetarians. But just because your asian doesn't mean you can't become a vegetarian.

You can always be vegetarian - regardless of what ethnic background you are.

I'm Chinese and I'm happily vegatarian, I work, go to the gym, have a very fun social life - i still go out with friends. They eat meat - I'll eat vego food.

It's about self control, we live in a society where food is so readily available, there is no such thing as 'i can't even if I tried' - obviously you haven't tried hard enough.

Yes of course. There are 500 million people in India who are vegetarian. Last time I checked, India was in Asia. Some Mahayana Buddhists are also vegetarian but it's not very common.

just because someones asian doesnt make them any different in their choices of being a vegetarian or not...

im asian and im vegetarian... but i live in the usa...so..

im not sure if that has to do with it... but it doesnt matter what you're ethnicity...depends on how much you care about animals and the environment

I'm an Asian but not vegetarian. So far in my opinion and looking at my friends who are vegetarians, i can see that their food excpenditure is quite high. In Asia, most people who are vegetarians are the Buddhist.

It's based on Religion. China is a communist country that denounces religion. Many Buddhists there are vegetarian and vegan. But China over all is a big meat eating secular nation. As America is. You can buy whale meat at Walmart in China.
