Problems with Boca Breakfast (meatless) Sausage?!

Question:

Problems with Boca Breakfast (meatless) Sausage?

Both my boyfriend and I (both vegetarians) have felt nauseous on different occassions after eating the meatless sausages from different packs. Has anyone else encountered this?

Answers:
I haven't and I LOVE those Boca sausages. Maybe you got a bad batch? Check with your local grocer in case there was a bad batch shipped to that store

I eat the Boca Burgers and they're good, never felt nauseous but I am not vegetarian.

Well, eating a MEATLESS sausage is just stupid in the first place. If you like the taste of sausage you obviously like the taste of meat. Eat the real stuff.

If your veg you don't need to pretend by eating soy shaped like meat. Next time just eat a carrot and you'll be fine.

no cause i dont eat it......that stuff is just gross!! i mean i believe in bein healthy and all but thats just a little to much!

Dont worry others are not eating. There are people who did not eat because theres nothing to eat.

Ive never had the sausage but Ive eaten the burgers and never felt sick. Maybe there is a certain ingredient that your body is not used to in the sausage.

Boca Breakfast? Wouldn't that be "Mouth Breakfast" (boca = mouth in spanish)

That might explain some things if you think about where your food really comes from.

You may have added too much grease, but otherwise you should not get nauseous from Boca sausage.

Oh gag. I'd suggest only buying fake meat subs at a big-time veggie grocery store, where you know the stock is being rotatoed on a regular basis, and not growing old sitting in the cooler waiting on you to buy it. Look for expiratin dates, and if they are not legible, do not buy. (I've heard of places rubbing them enough so they cannot be read.)

No, we eat veggie sausage, veggie burgers, veggie corn dogs, etc., and we've never had your experience. We've had several different brands, and have never felt nauseous.

I think Boca changed the formula for the sausage over the past couple of years. It used to be vegan. Now it's not. That could be a possibility

im not sure but maybe you're not cooking them enough...

i dont know... i feel fine when i eat them... strange..

Per chance are you buying the organic version of the sausage? Boca uses Konjac gum as a fat replacement and binder (instead of Acacia gum) in their organic products. Konjac isn't a 'bad' thing to use in food but I quit using it (along with Carageen) because I've noticed that some people occasionally have problems digesting it.

It's my opinion (no real facts) that at least some of the people that react badly to commercial soy milk are actually reacting to the 'poor' choice of gums that were added to 'improve' the texture/mouth feel of the products.

I have never tried it.
We do make Boca Burgers in the frying pan with a little oil and then dress them up with various condiments. They taste terrific.
You could write to the company and tell them, or just don't eat them anymore - try the Boca Burgers if you haven't.

No..but I dont really care for them. Try Veggie Patch Spiced apple sausage.

Try the morningstar farms ones. I eat those all the time and they're WONDERFUL!
