Hee hee..

SAY- TAHN

I usually mis-pronounce it sea-tan (as in I went to the sea to get a tan) for the very reason that you described. Folks in this part of the US cain't (sic) discriminate between the correct pronunciation of seitan and satan.

Yes, "seitan" is pronounced "Satan."

Don't ya just love embarassing moments like that?

It can be awkward, but used to vegetarian clothes designer's advantage, too. ( http://www.veganessentials.com/catalog/p... )
