Anyone have any experience making soy milk at home?!
Anyone have any experience making soy milk at home?
I'm thinking about purchasing a SoyQuick soy milk maker. Anyone have an opinion on it's use?
Thanks
Answers:
I love my SoyQuick maker. No matter what anyone says though, use the Laura beans. They may be more expensive but still much cheaper than buying already made soy milk. If you decide to get one, if your making more than one batch at a time u MUST MUST MUST fully clean and dry all the parts between each batch. I didn't listen to that once and my second batch was nasty burnt soymilk. Also, add a pinch or two of salt and some Carreggean, these are listed on Silk Soymilk and make a big difference in the homemade stuff. Enjoy!!!
I've tried one and think it's a waste of money. It's just not that hard to make 'alternative milks' and in my experience I get better quality from using more 'traditional' methods.
Now let's see how many thumb-downs I can accrue
Sorry, So cheap to buy ngm soy milk here in Australia, I have never tried. Have tried Tofu Milk a reciepe I got from "The (Almost) No Fat Cookbook, by Bryanna Clark Grogan.
after some experiences at home to make soy milk i found that buy it from a store is better cause:
- untasted soy milk if u make it at home
- lots of waste at home
- waste time
beside if u insist to make it at home.
- wash and soak (GMO free) soy beans in normal water over the night ( quantity 1 soy bean cup / 3 cups water
- than next morning put the soaked water and the soy beans in the soy maker and do as ur machin said
attention : dont put all the quantity at ounce
best answer No ???
You can make lentil milk easier with a blender after you cook them (less cooking time and sweeter)...just that is is a greenish black color...
