What is this person called -they are not semi vegetarians?!

Question:

What is this person called -they are not semi vegetarians?

what is a person called who is primarily a vegan though may still consume or use animal products only if the animal died of natural or accidental causes or if the animal produced dairy or eggs without cruelty or death to it or its offspring?

Answers:
A vegan doesn't use animal products no matter the circumstances.
What you're referring to is either a semi-vegetarian or a lacto/ovo-vegetarian. The label changes depending on what the person eats.
But I don't know anyone who eats animals who die of natual causes. Would even farmers find that unsanitary?

I would call that person attempting to be an ethical consumer.

A Carnavegavore

roadkill afficionado

How would you eat an animal dead by accidental death? Like roadkill? Any egg wouldn't be considered offspring unless it had been fertilized and then it would have an actual embryo inside. So I guess I'd call the person confused.

People who consume animals that died of natural causes or accidental deaths are scavengers and are in no way or form a vegerarian.

Vegeterians do not eat meat but consume dairy products.

Vegans do not consume any animal products.

Do they really need to be labelled? Just accept them regardless of what they eat.

an "often-etarian"

You have a strict veg .ie no meat or anything produced from a living animal , then you have a lacto who will eat eggs ,dairy products etc .Who eats anything killed accidental ?

A dumbass, they should stick to chewing on the table.

You can't be a semi-vegetarian. Your are a vegetarian, or you are not. If you eat meat, whether or not died naturally, it is still meat. Then you are not a vegetarian. A vegan will not eat any animal products at all.

I know vegans that call themselves freegans because they will sometimes eat diary because it is nearly impossible to go out to eat (restaurant or someone else's house) and avoid some dairy without affecting the health or creating some offense. I accept this definition and if you wanted to be cute you could call vegetarians that will eat meat in special circumstances freegetarians.

Supposedly the Buddha ate meat only when offer to him by another but otherwise ate vegetarian. It is all too easy to become legalistic about the vegetarian lifestyle. Life is not always that simple. The spiritual goal is to reduce suffering the best way we can without resorting to rigid pharisaical behavior.

The person is not vegan at all. Vegans dont consume any animals for any reason not do they consume eggs or dairy.

They are part time vegetarians! :O) I know that many people have this nice idea that an animal used for consumption could die of 'natural' causes, but it's usually the furthest from the truth. I was watching a show where a strict vegan woman had a real leopard skin rug. She justified it by saying that she never would have bought it except that she was reassured it died of natural causes...hemmm...family all gathered around the bed? I don't think so!
