Vegetarian a sin?!

Question:

Vegetarian a sin?

hey guys. Please dont tell me this question is dumb, but is being a vegetarian a sin

Answers:
No, why would it be?

There is no commandment saying you have to eat meat...though the bible does tell you it is okay....and specifies what meat you may eat. Which is pretty much everything.

yes,repent now!

No, no it's not.

No, why would it be? never heard of this.

oh please...get a life..

No if anything eating god's creatures is a sin

I think a better question is, "Why on earth would you think being vegetarian is a sin?"

no, there is nothing forcing you to eat anything.

No, can't imagine why. Is there anything in the bible, torah, koran that says not eating meat is a sin? not that i am aware of.

Of course not ! If anything, it would be the other way around.

Who told you that?Only he's dumb, not you....Everyone's got their own rights to do......So continue being a veggie....

Those poor little broccolis get their heads cut off. You would know it was sin after you heard their agonizing screams. I shudder thinking of it.

Most deffinately not. Find me a verse in the bible where it says, "If you do not eat meat, you will be punished!" There is nothing morally compromising about choosing to abstain from eating animals, it is only when one tries to convince others that vegetarianism is 'The Only Way,' that it becomes harmful.

:)

no it is a free country do what you whant and listen to any one else

I don't know about a sin, but the pork tenderloin I had last night was heavenly. It was so juicy, and tender, and I got the seasoning just right...

Sorry I lost it there for a second.

HUH?????????????? Where did you even get a vague hint that you diet choices were somehow sinful????? Where does it say (anywhere!!!) that not eating meat and/or fowl is somehow against any religious rules?????????????

No, it isn't. Being a vegetarian means not eating meat because you don't like killing animals, or for health reasons and you're not denying yourself of any nutrition that you could get from another food source.

Being a vegetarian or vegan is not a sin.
You have a choice everyday of what too eat, eating isn't a sin. But gluttony is if you live for food.

It is not a sin but it is........What I mean is That It messes With the Order of Life.........If your a Vegetarian, It just means you wont eat meat.......But we, Humans are suposed to eat meat as well......if you dont then you will lose weight but will not have any more energy

No, it's not. Before "the fall", it was the law (so it seems). But after Adam sinned, killing animals for our needs was adequate (God sacrificed the first animal to make clothing for Adam and Eve to cover their shame). HOWEVER, I am annoyed when people can be so devoted to something like vegetarianism and so non-chalant about their faith, and claim to be Christian (yes, I have a few people in mind here). It's like, what's REALLY important here? There's something in the Bible about how some people make their stomach their god...

i don't see whay it would be. nobody sins by eating veggies and they are more likely to sin eating meat like those hunters on tv who do not nead it as food like long ago.

Nope.. But i hear ppl say that non-vegetarians are committing a sin by eating animals.

HECK!

who said that? vegetarian is good 4 health.u can only eat green veggies n fresh fruits,no fish,no meat,no egg etc.make sure that u don't take preserved food which contains high presevative n color.take care.

No

yes it is the bible say in a dream 2 peter god laid down a blanket full of meat and god him self said eat for i have given unto you and that is why it is a sindont listen to the other people pls

No, after the flood the Lord told Noah and his family that their food source could be meat and vegetation. Look it up in Genesis if you don't believe me. It's true.

no
save your stress and don't over analyze

Eating vegetables is not a sin...eating a vegetarian, however would be...good luck!

Ok, I'm going to answer you seriously. Since you're asking about "sin", I'll approach this from a scriptural standpoint.

In the garden, all of creation was vegetarian. It's how all animals and humans were created. The eating of meat did not come about until Adam and Eve left the garden. Before that, they were told by God to eat of all of the trees they desired (vegetarian), except the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.

After that, people became omnivores, according to scripture. If you forward to the Law of Moses, the priests and Levites ate a diet very heavy in meat. They ate all the meat that was sacrificed each day, and the Law says that it was to be their salary as a group, and that none of it was to be wasted after the sacrifices had been rendered.

As for what you ask, I have actually heard someone claim that a study (who knows who it was conducted by or how) determined that vegetarians are spiritually weaker, more into new-age mysticism, and more easily swayed to any number of flaky doctrines than meat eaters are. I'd hardly call the findings gospel, but it's something you can consider for yourself. It's hard to weigh it accurately since I'm not able to provide any links or any solid data since I was just told about it by someone else.

To sum it up, only in the feast of Passover is there a commandment in the Bible to eat meat. Otherwise, I think it's a matter of preference. The Bible clearly defines "sin", and refraining from meat is never considered a sin--- unless perhaps you believe that you are still bound by the Law of Moses and you refuse to eat lamb or goat on Passover. Remember though, that it does say that whatever a man believes in his heart to be sin, it is sin FOR HIM.

I would like to correct someone who answered your question. Vegetarian/Vegan is not a sin what-so-ever! It is not 'messing up the order of life', if anything, it is helping/pro-life. You WILL NOT always be weak, you can get all the vitamin/minerals with a vegetarian/vegan diet, that you can with a meat diet. I'm 20 years old, I've been a vegetarian for 3 years now, and a vegan for 3 months. I have plenty of energy, I'm very healthy, and loving it!

Choosing to go/be Vegetarian, Vegan especially, I believe shows that you are a very compassionate person, especially if you are doing it for pro-life reasons!
