I'm curious to see how many of you like or dislike onions. I personally am an onion hater.:( How about you?

I have mixed feelings about onions. I like the way they taste pretty well, but the "film" that comes off in cooking a chopped/sliced onion--the part that turns almost stringy--grosses me out. I've started using garlic in place of onions in a lot of recipes.

Red Onions are the best! There are also the Maui Onion, also a great choice.
White onions are great in stews and soups. Anywhere you need a strong "seasoning"
I really like cooked onions, but I will only eat them raw in a salad, in shaved slices, because I think their flavor overpowers everything otherwise. Roasted onions are awesome, especially on sandwiches.
Hmm. I'll eat onions but I'm not a fanatic about them. :)

Absolutely love onions in almost everything!! Husband, on the other hand, hates them...even when cooked so their flavor isn't strong. So I've had to cut back on family meals. I do still use them heavily for dishes I make for my daughter (almost 3, who doesn't mind them) and myself!

Loved them before I became vegetarian, loved them before I became vegan, love them more than ever. I like just eating them plain with a fork and knife... but that gives me a tummyache. Drat.

Onions are great, especially when you cook them with garlic in some olive oil. That's one of my favorite smells.
I *HATE* the sweet onions like the Texas 1015 onions (that some of my relatives grow).
On the other hand give me a REAL Bermuda or Red onion that makes people cry from across the room and I'll eat it like an apple!!
