it comes with a dvd called "meet your meat" and a tiny magazine with some recipes but its mainly about animals and why we shouldnt eat them and they too have feelings...they will continue to send you things in the future like stickers you put on mail that has your name, addy, and other stuff like memo pads that have your name on it...and surverys (they kept sending the same exact survery to me even after i sent it in after i filled it out)
It is very useful for beginners. And you don't have to wait for it. You can get the PDF version right here:
http://www.goveg.com/pdfs/vsk_celeb.pdf...
YOU might also want to try these books, including a cook book:
Becoming Vegetarian
Becoming Vegan
Cooking Vegetarian
You should be able to find them in your local library system. In addition, these are recent books, and you should be able to purchase them at or through any book store.
The first two books are actually a great idea, as they literally show you how to do this in a truly healthy manner. The third is a companion book to the first two.
The PETA book is good as well, but while you're waiting...
Warning: it will harangue you to be a vegan, not a vegetarian. PETA is not exactly honest, there or elsewhere.
The recipes are pretty bad. Just hit epicurious.com and specify 'meatless' in your searches.
Yeah, it's a good starter. Also go to www.pcrm.org and look at their vegetarian starter kit online. Explore all of PETA's websites and watch some of their movies too. Lots of great info. There are many websites too.
