There are so many great vegetarian-friendly choices in Toronto! Here are my top choices.

In the downtown area, try Juice for Life - at the corner of Bloor and Spadina - the food is fabulous in a casual but slightly upmarket environment.

If you love Indian food, there are excellent choices. In my view the best ones aren't exclusively vegetarian, but have many veg-friendly options. Try the Host on Prince Arthur (1 block north of Bloor and a half block west of Avenue Road); Banjara Indian Cuisine on Yonge between Charles and Bloor, or Debu Sahas Biryani House on Wellesley just east of Yonge.

There are cheaper Indian spots in an area known as "Little India" in the far east quarter of Toronto, but I think that the quality and presentation of the (slightly more expensive) downtown choices above are better.

Finally, if you're into raw food, there is a tiny perfect gem on Dupont near Spadina called Live -- awe-inspiring.

Good and unbiased restaurant reviews are in Toronto Life Magazine -- http://www.torontolife.com/restaurants/,... or Now Toronto at http://www.nowtoronto.com/restaurant/... Most of the restaurants above are rated in one or the other.

Hope you have a wonderful time!

Is there a particular ethnicity or price range that you're looking for? How about a particular area of the city?

Toronto is said to be a vegetarian haven, so you won't have any difficulty finding a vegetarian restaurant catering to your food preferences (East Indian, Chinese, American food, etc.).

Good luck and enjoy your trip!
