No, you shouldn't. You'll become very cranky as your body will long for animal protein and satiety that tofu just won't give you. Enjoy it all in moderation. Be healthy, don't hold anything back from your body.
I was vegan for 18 months and literally almost died.
So I eat much better now and enjoy a steak "once a month" or so.
Ha... I've been a vegan for 10+ years now. Thats a very personal decision to make. There are a lot of ethical and dietary arguments that can be made for veganism, but it's up to you to decide.
Why not have both? Steak with a side of tofu?

Well, it depends on you! Meat is not bad for you if you eat the right kinds and in small quantities. There are some advantages to being a vegetarian though. Decide what's best for you...good luck!
Tofu if eating cow meat is unethical or gross to you. If not- enjoy the steak! If you do choose to eat tofu, make sure to supplement your diet with iron, a valuable mineral you would get from steak.

no, the meat is rich with substances(such as protein) that tofu cannot provide. giving up meat is stupid, and limits your meals to a very small amount, and you get made fun of, even by friends. i would kno, we have a vegetarian friend, and we sometimes make fun of him, alot actually. lol but its all in good fun

Humans are omnivores -- to be as healthy as possible, we need the nutrients in both vegetables and meat. While there are vegetable sources of protein, they're poor substitues for meat (you'd have to eat around 18 pounds of tofu to get the same amount of protein as in an 8oz steak, and you'd still lack the other nutrients in meat). Meat is the most compact, efficient form of protein on the planet. Yes, it comes from animals, and yes they have to be killed to get it.
That's how it's been for millions of years.
Far better to practice moderation in all things than to go to extremes in any -- don't be a meat glutton, just eat what you need. Don't be a vegetarian, just eat the healthy vegetable matter that you need. A moderate balanced diet will keep you healthier than ANY extreme either way.
I'm glad that you're at least considering between being a vegetarian and a non-vegetarian foodie. I would suggest being vegetarian as far as possible.
if you can't chose between something vegetarian and a piece of meat than I'd say no, you shouldn't be vegetarian.

Vegitarianism is great for your bdoy when done right, it get the drugs used on animals out of your system, it boosts your energy, it also makes you loose any UNHEALTHY fat.
