Can seaweed be given to an infant of 10 months as a source of iron?
Answers:
In limited amounts it'd be ok but talk to your pediatrician about it first!! You're also going to be feeding relatively large amounts of Iodine and other salts that could overload such a young thyroid!
Sometimes exotic can be complicated i'd say why not jus stick to the good ol spinach and broccoli ????
Do 10 month old children eat food?
I suppose if they do, then seaweed is as good as anything else.
In Japan or other cultures where seaweed is eaten more commonly I'm sure small children eat it (and bamboo shoots and all kinds of exotic things).
I am sure a little seaweed is ok. But maybe your child would prefer raw pumpkin seeds or even raisins for some iron. Most green vegetables are a source of iron, many dried fruits and seeds are good sources as well.
no it has 2 much salt in it
