Answers:
Refrigeration. But, then you have another problem: the skins turn black. Now just the skins are affected. The banana is still good, but the appearance is off-putting.

nope

buy them super super green.

Buy them as green as possible

Keep them in a cool, BUT NOT COLD, place

if possible, hang them; if they touch each other, they can bruise

put them in the fridge.
skins turn brown but bananas stay good longer.

you can also freeze them same deal but that is only
for making banana bread and such.

store in the refrigerator

There's really nothing you can do. Well, unless you want to make banana bread out of ripened bananas. That's what I'd do, it's yummy!

There aren't too many ways since they do actually go bad. One way is to buy a few at a time so you don't have to waste all your money on banana's.
If you like to cook and the banana's are really ripe, you can make a nice banana bread or banana nut bread.

Keep in a brown bag or Refrigerator but the if you do the skin does get to looking pretty nasty yet the Edible part is still very good to eat.

I only buy as many as we will eat in 3 days. So I'm buying bananas every few day but we always have fresh ones in the house.

You can always peel them, cut them into slices, put them in a ziplock/ziptop bag then freeze. They're great for smoothies, you can still use them for making pancakes or baking, too. They last about 6 months in the freezer without getting weird or turning color.

Never keep them with other fruit such as apples which will increase the ripening process. Keep them seperate and in the open air. In a bag is worse as the fumes will be trapped and increase ripening.

I agree, the fridge is good and does turn skin black.

I just buy very ripe discount organic bananas, peel them, put into ziplock bags, and into the freezer they go. My daughter loves to snack on them, and they're quick to thaw for baking.
